Messages and Recomendation

The book has some very important messages about life. I learn a lot of things with it. One thing that really got stuck in my head was that life is going to put you many obstacles and you have to learn to deal with them. Life will never play fair and you have to be strong. There will be a lot of problems, some bigger that others, but doesn´t matter how, you need to be strong and follow your instincts.
Another thing that I learn is that you may think you are alone in this battle of life, but really you are not. There are always that can help you, may be not a lot, but might be helpful. In hard times, keep your friends close because you might need them.
I fully recommend this book. It has suspense and is mysterious. I like it because it is weird and original. The messages are very good and all the process of how Lucy goes through her problems is very interesting. This book is that kind of books that you can´t stop reading it. It makes you experience many feelings like sadness and happiness at the same time. Also fear because you don´t what is going to happen. I really like it.

My Favorite Parts of the Book

In ¨Impossible¨, there are many parts that I like. Of course, the entire book is great, but there are some specific parts that I just love. Like for example, when Zach and Lucy discover about the curse and show all the stuff that they found to Lucy´s foster parents. After a while, they all sit down to eat dinner and talk about it. They wanted to decide if they should let it go like nothing is happening, or help Lucy to break the curse. Then, all decided that they have to take it seriously and do some research. Now here it comes my favorite part. Zach, sitting next to Lucy in dinner and Lucy´s foster parents being distracted, gets closer to Lucy and whispers that he is totally in love with her. I was in shock, just like Lucy, because it was out of the blue! I never imagine that exactly that moment would tell her THAT! It was very surprising and I laugh a lot.
Another of my favorite part was when Lucy is at Sarah´s house, her best friend, and they are talking. I love that part because you really know how Lucy is feeling, is like you can see through her and understand her in a better way. Sarah being so helpful listens to her and shows a part that she never demonstrated before in the book. Sarah acts so mature that you think that is not her, that she is being possessed by someone else much older. This part is very nice because you learn about what is a good friendship.

My Favorite Characters

In this book, I have three favorite characters and they all have different personalities. In some ways, they change during the story. You can easily find out their personality because the story kind of takes most of the character`s point of view.
Of course, Lucy, the main character, has a very special personality. She is very rational and doesn`t have a lot of imagination. It is funny because when she discovers that she has a curse, she just believes it. Even though she needs logic to believe in things, she still believes in what her mother tells her. During the whole book, we can see how difficult is to Lucy to resolve all her problems. She shows a lot of determination and strength.  I really admire that because if I was her, I would really become insane with all the stuff that going on. Lucy is also very lovely with her foster parents and her mother. At first, she didn’t   understand her mother and neither want to. But after reading all about her and being in the same situation, she learns how to love her and that really helps her to go through all her problems.

The character that I love is Zach. He is like the perfect guy, like in every story. He is described as a tall guy with blue eyes and blond, but his personality is perfect. He has a really good sense of humor that makes you laugh. He is so lovely with Lucy that makes you say ¨Gosh; I really want a boyfriend like that¨. He is also very strong and helps Lucy a lot with her problems. It is a shame that these kind of lovely and perfect guys are only a product of someone´s imagination.
My other favorite character is Miranda. I like her because she is weird and I like weird stuff because it interesting. Even though Miranda was out of her mind, she was maybe the sanest person in the book. She tries to warn Lucy in many ways. She still understood what was going on even if she was insane. Before she get insane, she was rejected by people, but she was so lovely. Even with a difficult life, she take care of her daughter like she was already born and that make her lovely.

More About the Book

¨Impossible¨ starts when Lucy was very young and found a secret place in the house of her foster parents. There she found a letter, but she can barely understand it because she is too young. So she thought it was a magic spell and said the first sentences. After that, she put all those pages inside the secret place; hoping soon she will remember about the secret place and the ¨magic spell¨. Years later, she forget about it and now she is a junior. Her life has been perfectly normal during those last years, until her past is chasing her down once again.
Miranda, Lucy´s real mother, starts making her appearances again.  She walks on the street, singing ¨Scarborough Fair¨, but in a different version. Miranda was like sister for Lucy´s foster mother, Soledad.
Soledad is hard worker and her boss gave the job of being her assistant to a very handsome man. He seems charming by the description it is given in the book, but I am pretty sure he is not what he seems. I just don´t like.  His name is Padraig Seeley. Yeah, I know, the name is also really strange. Anyway , it seems that I am not the only one that doesn´t like him. Lucy and Zach, Lucy´s best friend, don´t like him also. They meet him when all are waiting for Gray Spencer take Lucy to the prom.
When Gray Spencer shows up, things get really out of control because of Miranda´s unexpected appearance. Then things get a little better and Gray takes her to the prom and they all seem happy. The problem comes after the prom is finish and all of the people are going to the after party. Gray takes Lucy back to the place of the prom, that now is deserted, and it ends up that is not really Gray. I am very not sure what really happened there, but thank God Zach arrives and helps Lucy.

Impossible

¨Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
 Parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme
Remember me to one who lives there
She must be a true love mine¨
Sounds familiar? Well, for the ones that don’t know what is this phrase, this phrase is part of the lyrics of a song that my grandma used to listen when I was 6 six years old. The name of the song is ¨Scarborough Fair¨ and I still listen to it these days. Supposedly, it is telling an ancient and magical legend from time ago. The weird thing about this song is that no one really knows neither the true person who wrote it nor the original version.

At first, when I saw the book ¨Impossible¨, I wasn´t really sure if I wanted to read it. It didn´t seem interesting, but then my teacher gave it to me, so i had to read it anyway. I start reading the first pages, and something got my attention. The name of the main character was Lucy Scarborough, and also that this story was inspired by the ballad ¨ Scarborough Fair¨. Then I instantly felt connected with this book because it remind me of my grandma and when I lived with her many years ago.
¨Impossible¨ is about a girl, Lucy Scarborough, which has seventeen years and lives with her foster parents. Lucy´s family have been cursed for generations, and they´ve been forced to attempt thee impossible tasks.  If they failed, then they became crazy, like Lucy´s real mother. That is why she lives with foster parents. Now is the turn of Lucy. Her mother tried to warn her before, but Lucy didn´t listen. She has to succeed to have a normal life again.
